I do believe that this album is a must have for any fan of the beach boys or a fine addition to any collection.Although, I'll admit out that the music and the group is very good, however, there is one thing that I feel the need to point out. Plus, I also found out that McCain listed a song or 2 of their stuff in his top 10 favorites songs. May their music be adored for generations to come. For what it's worth, I'm glad I have the beach boys, and this album is one of 10 albums in my music collection. If so, How. But, their music for the most part is basically written about girls, surfing, or cars.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing personal against the beach boys, and I believe that they have many good sounds. But, if you were a producer or a director (so to speak), and your group basically wrote songs about the same stuff mostly, would you express your thoughts on the matter. Since I was growing up, I've always become quite influenced on the Beach Boys. I was going to rate this album 4 stars, but I decided to give it 5 after all. I found out that they did a performance for the late president Reagan and former first lady Nancy Reagan back in the early 80's. I was quite impressed. Why.
When I was searcing the beach boys on a wikipedia search because I was merely trying to get to know them. No, I'm not trying to defy or bash their music or the group for that matter. If you are trying to collect songs of the beach boys, then this album would be really helpful. Or if not, Why.There's another point I wish to bring up. There was something that did catch my attention. Finally, I must be honest here. Well, the music and sounds alone would of let me rated it 4 stars, but for their politican background on the right kind of persuaded me to give it an extra star.
My 7 mo old can't help herself. She just has to dance when she hears the beachboys.
All the best oldies. Brings back some really good memories. Sounds great. I LOVE IT.
Very cool. This CD opens with the classic Beach Boys song, "California Girls". It is the song that the group usually opens their live concerts with. All their good songs are in this CD. Highly recommended.
With their combined talents and creativity, they composed and arranged their own songs. All the thirty tracks are fun to listen to, but my top twelve choices include the following. I was very impressed how their voices blended flawlessly into choir-like harmonies. "The thirty splendid tracks on 'Sounds of Summer - The Very Best of the Beach Boys' vividly dramatize that legendary band's ability to evoke a vision of California as shimmering, rich and all-encompassing as the state itself. The Beach Boys had not simply defined their own sound, but they themselves had become one of the most significant musical forces on the scene." ~ Anthony DeCurtis ~How could this collection be the very best of the Beach Boys without my all-time favorite "The Warmth of the Sun." I was going to give it a four-star-rating due to the exclusion of that beautiful song, but on second thought -- with a set of thirty of their hit songs that are included in this collection, I believe it is arguably a five-star-material. A delightful listen."That beautiful season, the Summer. This CD is not only meant to be listened to during summertime, but for all seasons through all the years.
To me, it was one of the most exciting moments in my entire musical journey to have watched this outstanding group perform live before the eyes and ears of admiring and enthusiastic concert-goers.
I never fail to listen to this compilation CD every once in a while whenever I want to turn back the hands of time and reminisce cherished memories of summers gone by.
"Wouldn't It Be Nice" to turn back the hands of time and listen once again to Brian Wilson, Carl Wilson, Dennis Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnson and David Marks collectively known as the famous Beach Boys.
In my teen-aged years, I have loved the delightful and fun music of the Beach Boys.

And this is also one of the CDs I listen to when I'm running on the treadmill as it is the perfect music that is so full of high spirit and energy.
I have seen one of the live concerts of the Beach Boys back in the Nineties.
Relive the luscious sounds of the Sixties and enjoy the splendid sounds of summer with this highly recommended CD.
Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light and the landscape lay as if new created In all the freshness of childhood." ~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow ~
